“Sex and the City” Samantha Jones / Kim Cattrall

0 0 0 1

For tonights latest "Sex and the City" look, I am going to tackle the wild and wonderful Samantha.  I have always loved her character's frankness, and loyalty to the girls.  I found this look and absolutely loved the heavy eyes, sculpted checks, and soft lips. Powerful yet soft!

These dramatic eyes definitely require some lashes.  My personal technique is to cut the strips in half.

“Sex and the City” Carrie Bradshaw/ Sarah Jessica Parker

0 0 0 1

In honor of my favorite TV show of all time, I am going to devote the rest of the week to my four favorite girls…Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda!

I have been loving all the pictures from the movie that I have seen and thought that I would review some of the looks from the upcoming movie.  My own wonderful girlfriends and I are all going out this weekend to celebrate the opening, so I thought I would get a head start on the festivities…first up, Carrie!

Revlon Colorstay Active Light Makeup

Revlon ColorStay Aqua Mineral Makeup

Now that it is becoming blazingly hot down here in San Diego, my makeup is melting off of my face.  So, time to start buying my “summer makeup wardrobe”.

During the summertime it is essential to scale down on your products and try to keep your makeup to a minimum.  Look for sweat proof products that contain an SPF, and go for sheer coverage.  Since I am always alittle wary of anything too sheer (I love my concealer!), I am always on the hunt for a light foundation that will still cover up my problem areas (under eyes and blemishes).

So, every summer I always end up going my back to my old standby.  An oldie but goodie… Revlon Colorstay!  And my favorite part is that they have an amazingly oil free, light, yet moderate coverage version of the original.  Their Active Light Makeup  gives a light, soft and natural coverage that stays on up to 16 hours.  And ladies, this stuff won’t come off, which is a relief in the summer.  Makeup meltdown is the last thing you will need to worry about while your out in the glorious sun.

0 0 0 1

I am attending one of my closest friend's weddings today, and a gift that I popping in her bag, is from one of my favorite companies.

The Ms. & Mrs.  Special Occasion Survival Kits are truly unique and have special kits for every occasion! Today I am giving my friend the Bridessentials Kit, which features over 25 things every bride must have on her wedding day, such as tissues, safety pins, super glue, and nail polish remover.

I keep the Shemergency kit  in my car at all times, and I will tell you it has saved my katookus  on more than one occasion.  I can't tell you how many times I have grabbed for the static or stain remover, or the little hairspray.  These kits are so much fun, and are amazing little gifts for your girlfriends, or just for yourself.  So go grab one, and never have an emergency again!

Smashbox Fusion Soft Lights

Smashbox Fusion

Now that we are starting to get our bronze on for summer, it’s time to start looking into soft shimmer products that will enhance and not overpower your summertime glow.  I think I have found just the one.  I am in love with Smashbox’s Fusion Soft Lights It comes in four different colors, but I am continually using Starburst and Dusk.  But they are all lovely.  Not too shimmery/glittery  and gives just the right amount of sheen to the skin.  And ladies, they feel like silk on the skin!  The packaging is simple and will last you throughout the summer.

Makeup Artist Tip: You can also use the colors for eyeshadow as well, which makes this a wonderful multi-tasking product to use all season.

Paul Mitchel Super Skinny Serum

Paul Mitchel Super Skinny

Being half Italian and half Scottish I have the weirdest combination hair ever!!  It’s red, crazy thick, and doesn’t know if it wants to be wavy or straight.  It’s big…Miss. America big!  I am always flat-ironing, blow drying, and putting all sorts of de-frizzing products in my hair to tame the beast.

Well, thanks to Self’s “best of beauty” recommendation, I decided to give Paul Mitchel Super Skinny Serum a try and I am hooked.  It has cut my drying time in half, and even makes my hair calmer and less poofy when I air dry it.

Physicians Formula Bronzers

3 1 0 1

Now that summer is just around the corner, I am already starting my yearly search for my new favorite bronzer.  Since I am very fair, this can always be a bit of a  chore for me.  Most bronzers are either too dark, too matte,  too orangy, or too muddy.  Just like Goldilocks I am looking for "just right".  Well, my friend was getting sick of my complaining and marched me right to the drugstore and introduced me to Physicians Formula.
