L’Occtiane Eau de Baux

I have never been one to get into the whole "unisex" fragrance.  Not that I don't love the idea, but it has never quite worked for me.  Anyone who knows me, knows that I like to smell like comfort food.  No, not like a fried chicken, but more like a warm vanilla cookie. Toss in alittle amber or warm chocolate undertones, and I am good to go.

Loose, beachy waves are ideal for summer.  The trick is finding a hair product that provides hold, hydration, and soft movement.  Easy, tousled Gisele like waves are simpler to achieve when you use Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion.  This cult classic is a favorite of celebrity stylists, and editors alike. Orlando Santiago Backstage Makeup

Share on Twitter0 Share on Facebook0 Share on Pinterest6 Share on Google +11

For the past two weeks I have been running around New York, and sucking up all the glorious fashion filled makeup looks that my fellow artists are knocking out!  Being in the city always fills me with inspiration, and stirs up my creativity.

One of my favorite artists and friend, Orlando Santiago, recently let me join him on set to get a sneak peak at his work in action.  His current fashion project  allows him to create classic, sensual looks  that can be recreated on anyone.  I tried this look below myself on a recent night out, and felt gorgeous.  And, to top it off, all the products he used were from one of  my favorite makeup lines, Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics.

Here is the look below, try it out next time you want to feel like a goddess!

Mineral Primer to start.
A light dusting of HD Powder in Warm all over to set primer.
Loose Mineral Foundation buffed all over for full coverage.
Petal and Bashful Blush mixed together for a soft flush.
*if needed, a light dusting of Sundance bronzer to warm up the skin.

Clairol Perfect 10 Hair Color

Share on Twitter0 Share on Facebook0 Share on Pinterest0 Share on Google +11

I very rarely do my own haircolor, because bad things happen when I do (I am referring to the orange incident of 07’).  Especially now since I have gone blond, the thought of at home experimentation scares me to death.  I do not want to come out looking like Bozo the clown.

But, desperate times call for desperate measures; recently I had to take matters, and my roots, into my own hands.   I have been reading a lot about the new Clairol Perfect 10, and have also heard some rave reviews from my friends.  Elle magazine claimed “it forever changed their opinion of at home hair color”.   So I decided to give it a try, and thank the beauty gods, it came out beautifully.  Phew!

3 Beauty finds

Share on Twitter0 Share on Facebook0 Share on Pinterest0 Share on Google +11

If you travel as much as I do, then you understand the need for travel size products.  Lots and lots of travel sized products (thanks airport security!).  Since I am obnoxiously picky with my beauty products, I refuse to use the generic hotel toiletries.  Not that they are bad by any means, its essentially the same as a breakup; “its not you, its me”.

I guess I am not alone in my neurotic obsession with high end travel size beauty goods, because there is a website devoted to just that.  is the mecca of beauty brands, all in convenient 3 oz bottles.  Miniature cosmetic heaven.

Here are a few of their brands:

Air Repair
Anthony for Men
Archipelago Botanicals
Avalon Organics
Baxter of California
Beauty without Cruelty
Billy Jealousy
Buddha Nose
Compagnie De Provence
Deep Steep

Orlane Anagenese 25+

Share on Twitter2 Share on Facebook0 Share on Pinterest1 Share on Google +11

I have been devoted to my skin care routine since my early twenties.  Actually, I should say I have been obsessed with skin care products since my early twenties (no shocker there).  But, the one thing that always frustrated me was the lack of skincare dedicated to the 25-33 set.  Your too young for anti-aging, but too old for basic skincare.  I always ended up slathering on both, but most of the time the anti-aging products were way to harsh for my young skin.  Such dilemmas!

The internet has been buzzing lately about the latest controversial photo shoot with Lindsey Lohan by famed photographer Tyler Shields.  Whether or not you like the shots, you cannot disagree that Tyler Shields photographs are outstanding, and make people talk.  These dark shoots of Ms. Lohan were taken for Tyler's new book "The Dirty Side of Glamor", and that is just what this is.

One of my dearest friends, Valerie Hernandez created Lindsey's look for the infamous shoot, and passed along the products she used to create the sultry vibe.  I am crazy for the smokey eyes and sexy lips that Miss.
