Lucky Magazine FABB Conference

Two weeks ago I had the thrill of attending the first West Coast Lucky Magazine Fashion and Beauty Bloggers Conference (FABB).  It was a whirlwind two days for me, and a lesson in pushing past your comfort zones and putting your best, most confident self forward.  I introduced myself to practically everybody, and drank in all the amazing information from the panel of experts.

But, I know what you really want to hear about.  The style, the beauty, the fashion…oh my!

I was floored by the casual, eclectic blend of the fashion and beauty bloggers that surrounded me.  Everyone was rocking their own personal sense of style, but afew style themes held true.  Shorts, long flowing maxi skirts, and fantastic heels or sparkly sandles seemed to be all the rage.

My personal style was simple, and classic with some rose gold bling (courtesy of my fashionista sister Charlotte).  I stuck to my favorite Black Maxi Dress +Demin jacket combo with embellished sandals.

Another big beauty trend I saw was the sea of brilliant pastels and bright neon nail colors. Yellow nails, and blue painted pedicures ruled the show.

And, what would be a blog post without sharing my own personal beauty tricks for the event!
  • I stuck with peachy pink cheeks, nude lips and emphasied my eyes with bronze, golds, and soft, shimmery beiges.
  • To make sure my skin was glowing, I started off with light reflective skincreams. Taking that extra time to take care of your skin prior to makeup application is what prevents makeup from caking, and fading.
  • Waterproof products from Make Up Forever kept my makeup smudge proof all day.
Since the days were long, I wanted to make sure I looked awake and fresh.  These easy go to products are always my go-to's.
*Makeup Artist Tip:  When you are looking tired, try using a highlighting cream (such as Benefit High Beam) mixed in with your foundation.  It gives an extra POP to make you look well rested.
