JuveRest Sleep Wrinkle Pillow

by Sian Bitner Kearney:

We’ve all heard the term, “get your beauty sleep”, but did you know that certain sleeping positions can actually cause wrinkles. If you’re strictly a back sleeper, you’re probably safe. However, for the side sleepers (GUILTY!) and stomach sleepers out there, these positions can cause deep wrinkles to form on the side of your face and forehead. Luckily, there is a way around this beauty blunder. It’s called the JuveRest Sleep Wrinkle Pillow, and it’s specially designed to minimize facial contact with the pillow, inhibiting sleep wrinkle formation as you sleep.

Here are the benefits:

1. Helps prevent and reduce sleep wrinkles

2. Encourages sleep positions that reduce damage to facial skin

3. Soft and comfortable

4. Promotes correct neck and back anatomical alignment

5. Multi-patented design for women and men of any age

6. Helps maintain a youthful appearance

7. Easy solution—all you have to do is sleep!

8. Special high quality, soft, open-cell, resilient foam for comfortable support

9. Open structure allows efficient air circulation, keeping you cooler at night

So if you’ve been suffering from sleep wrinkles and are about one night’s sleep shy of a Botox appointment, why not give JuveRest a try? The only thing you have to lose is an aging face.

Most Popular Makeup Colors for Spring

Share on Twitter3 Share on Facebook2 Share on Pinterest0 Share on Google +11

by Sian Bitner Kearney:

Ladies, it is finally time to put those dreary shades of winter away and embrace the warmth of spring. This season’s shades are electric; popping with hints of orange, blue, purple and more. So say bye-bye to those neutrals and prepare to have some serious fun with color as we introduce the season’s hottest beauty trends!

Lips:
Lips are absolutely bursting with color this season in neon shades of orange, fuchsia, and hot pink. The colors work great as the focal point of your look or as a compliment to a smokey eye at night.
Eyes:
Cobalt blue is the “it” color for eyes this season and there are so many ways to rock it! For an intense look, use a cobalt eyeshadow solo or layer it over a black shadow. If you’re living life on the subtle side, top off a neutral eye with cobalt blue eyeliner to add some edge to the every day.
Cheeks:
The cheek color of the season is berry. If you’re fair skinned, select a lighter, subtler shade. For medium to dark complexions, you will want to stick with a deep berry shade. Steer clear of sparkles though; this color is wild enough to stand on its own without the added drama.
Nails:
Yellow is the fun color for spring and the variations of the shade that you choose to wear are completely up to you. For day or for the office, shoot for a pale yellow. For a night on the town, pump up the brightness with a canary or neon shade of yellow.
Remember, these looks are both bold and beautiful but shouldn’t necessarily be worn together. Pick one or two areas to brighten up, and stay neutral everywhere else. Now go grab your favorite spring dress and leave winter in your rear view!

Bronde Ombre’ Perfection!

Share on Twitter0 Share on Facebook1 Share on Pinterest0 Share on Google +11

ombrehair

by Sian Bitner Kearney

Okay I’ll admit it, when it comes to the Kardashians, I’m not the best at keeping up. However, when I recently stumbled upon a photo of the three sisters, I found myself in total awe of Khloe’s latest look. While she’s been rockin’ the ombre’ hair for a while now, this bronde perfection is quite possibly the most gorgeous look I’ve ever seen on her. To get your own bronde goddess ombre’, you’ll need to do the following:

See your stylist BEFORE you plan to color: We all know that feeling of exhilaration that hits you the moment you’ve decided on your perfect color for the season. You want to run to your stylist ASAP to make your transformation, but slow your roll just for a moment. Any ombre’ look is one to step into lightly. Schedule a consultation with your stylist beforehand, even if he/she has been doing your hair for decades. If you don’t confirm ahead of time that he/she is well versed on the ombre’ process, you may find yourself walking out of the salon looking as if you’ve been too poor to do your roots for six months.

Make it a Gradual Effect: This ombre’ is much subtler than the ombre’s of summer’s past. There are no harsh transitions from brunette to blonde, it actually looks like the sun has just kissed her hair. It’s also important that your stylist understand it is a BRONDE shade you’re seeking. This means a good combination of color somewhere between a dark golden blonde and a light warm brown. To avoid a difference in opinion, always bring a photo to the salon and even ask to see the color swatches before the process begins.

Be Prepared to Style Your Hair: While this look is by far my absolute favorite for the season, it does come with some styling maintenance; meaning, if you’re more of a wash & go kinda gal, this look may not be for you. To truly showcase an ombre’ color, loose waves are always best, so be prepared to become best friends with your curling iron. Have Fun with it: Perhaps the best thing about this beautiful, bronde ombre’ is that it’s meant to be as fun and fearless as summer itself. The look offers a carefree type of edge, much more rock n roll than your old school foil highlights, and let’s be honest; it’s just flat out sexy! Pair it with a good spray tan, and you’ll be ready to let your inner Goddess run wild!

Best Beauty Looks for Date Night

Share on Twitter9 Share on Facebook5 Share on Pinterest5 Share on Google +11

datenightbeauty

by Sian Bitner Kearney:

Whether you’re married or just dating, planning a date night not only gives you a little romance to look forward to it’s also the perfect excuse to ditch your day-to-day look and go for that little extra bit of gorgeous! Here are our top five picks for gorgeous date night beauty.

Lip Stains
Few things ruin a romantic dinner like lipstick on your teeth or lipstick on your partner. However, most women rely on a little lip color to bring some dazzle to their beauty look. Next date night ditch the usual lipstick and opt for a stain. One of our favorites is TARTE LipSurgence Lip Tint in the shade, “Joy”.

Glowy Skin
You can easily add a touch of warmth to your skin with a bronzing powder or peach blush. Applied to the apples of the cheeks and along the forehead line, these shades give a warm glow to your skin making it look healthy without giving a fake tan appearance. We love NARS’ Blush/Bronzer Duo in the shades, “Orgasm/Laguna”.

Copper Eyes
No need to resort to dark browns and blacks for a beautiful smokey eye. Layering shades of gold and copper can be just as dramatic while also creating a dreamy, candlelit effect. Line eyes with a dark brown or black liner, then layer and smudge with a golden/copper shadow. For this look, we recommend Kat Von D’s Shade Shifter shadow in the shade, “Devotion”.

Highlight Your Assets
There is no better way to bring a romantic glow to your skin than by using a beautiful highlighter. Liquid highlighters especially, give skin a healthy, soft glow. Add touches above cheekbones, to corners of the eyes, or use add glow to you collar bones or along the shins of your legs. Never overdo the highlighter though, you want to have a soft shimmer, NOT look like a disco, glitter queen. Try Benefit’s High Beam highlighter for the perfect shimmer every time!

Let Your Hair Down
Pony tails and buns are perfect for the day or weekend errands but date night is your night to shine! Loose, soft waves are still super hot right now and nothing is sexier that wavy tendrils covering your shoulders over a candlelight dinner. Grab a large barrel clipless curling wand and wind 1” sections away from your face. Once all the hair is curled, tousle lightly with your fingers, add a touch or hairspray and your gorgeous and ready to go! Try Sultra’s Bombshell Oval Curling Iron for gorgeous Victoria Secret type waves!

BECCA Ultimate Coverage Complexion Crème

Share on Twitter2 Share on Facebook0 Share on Pinterest0 Share on Google +11

beccafoundation

by Sian Bitner Kearney:

Allow me to preface this product review by stating that historically speaking, I am not at all a foundation girl. I have never liked the look or feel of foundation and always felt like I was wearing an oily mask instead of makeup any time I tried one.

That being said, I received a sample of BECCA Ultimate Coverage Complexion Crème with my most recent Sephora product order. I looked at the sample, tossed it to the side of my counter, and truly thought that I would never look at it again. Later that week, I was at a loss. My regular concealer that I use as a mock foundation to provide color and camouflage to the necessary areas of my face went missing. I had 20 minutes to get ready for my son’s basketball game and in total haste; I reached for my BECCA sample. I squeezed about half a dime size on to my hand and began carefully dotting and blending into my skin with my fingertips. My first reaction was total shock. Not only did the product beautifully conceal the areas that required it, it also seemed to melt into my skin, leaving it soft, smooth and not cakey in the least. I smirked with skepticism, finished my hair and makeup, and headed out the door.

Midway through the game, I expected to feel the usual foundation oil slick building on my t-zone, but again to my surprise, my skin was still flawless. One 90 minute game, an early dinner party, and a three episode marathon of True Detective later, my flaws remained completely covered and my complexion was still oil free. The amazing thing was, with everything going on, I’d had zero time to even touch up with a swipe of powder. This complexion perfection was still a result of a 9:00 am makeup application. I was in awe. I even snapchatted a photo to my friend with the caption, “12 hour makeup face” for her opinion. She immediately texted me, writing that I was a liar and must have just recently done my makeup. Bam! I was sold!

So the question of the day is of course, will I purchase a full-size bottle of BECCA Ultimate Coverage Complexion Crème once my sample packet runs out? Yes I will. While I may not feel the need to use it every single day, when it’s time to glam up and look camera (or date night) ready, I think this product is the perfect beauty companion!

Food for Thought: Four Things You Should be Eating for Gorgeous Skin!

Share on Twitter0 Share on Facebook0 Share on Pinterest2 Share on Google +11

foodtohelpyoubebeautiful

by Sian Bitner Kearney:

As women, we are often taught to fear food; it will make us fat, it will break us out, etc. but what if you could enjoy food and reap some major beauty benefits as well? If you’re starving for some good menu items as well as an amazing glow, stock up on these four items ASAP!

Pepper Me Please
Whether you prefer red, green, or yellow, bell peppers are a wonder food! They are jam packed with vitamin C and contain antioxidants that can actually increase collagen production, decreasing lines and wrinkles and increasing skin’s firmness. You can sneak your bell peppers in as snacks throughout the day, or stuff with some brown rice, chicken and low fat cheese, bake, and enjoy them as a meal.

Berry Nice!
Blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries aren’t just a great option for a sweet treat; they are also packed with vitamins and antioxidants that help to slow the aging process. Add them to smoothies for breakfast, to a salad for lunch or dinner, or freeze and enjoy as a low cal dessert. Either way, both your face and your taste buds will thank you!

Enjoy Your Seafood
Oily seafood like salmon, lobster, and mackerel are high in both zinc and essential fatty acids. Combined, these main dishes not only reduce wrinkles, they also work as an anti-inflammatory to ease puffiness and redness in the skin. Add in some greens and a hint of olive oil, and you've got yourself one beautiful meal.

Go Nuts for Almonds!
Rich in flavonoids, these tasty nuts not only build a healthier heart, they also contain vitamin E and antioxidants for the skin. Eating almonds regularly not only leads to softer more supple skin; it can also fight off damaging free radicals caused by pollution and even smoking. Grab a handful as a snack or add a few to your salad for extra flavor and beauty points.

So grab your fork and get to it ladies! With foods that dish out these kinds of beauty results, you may find yourself wanting a second helping.

Share on Twitter1 Share on Facebook4 Share on Pinterest0 Share on Google +11

nailtrends

by Sian Bitner Kearney:

With reports of bad weather still circulating through newsrooms everywhere, it’s hard to believe that spring and summer are anywhere in sight! However, the new nail trends for the upcoming season are so hot, they are certain to add a few degrees to even your chilliest of days! Here are our top four picks for nail trends you MUST try!

#1 – Primary is Pretty Stepping out of the box of pinks and reds, this season’s hottest shades are a few of your grade school favs! Muted shades of orange, yellow, green, and blue are heating up the runways and adding serous wow factor to nails everywhere, adding a bit of extraordinary to your everyday apparel.

#2 – Nude is Nice No shocker to women who love their polish that nude is still a hot color for the upcoming spring/summer season. However, this season’s nude is not just restricted to boring beige. Very pale greys and browns are being added to the naked family for a look that is conservative without feeling too safe.

#3 – Darken it Up If you truly want to draw some attention, try one of the season’s super dramatic shades. Deep black, forest green, and sapphire blue are all at the top of the hot list for the season, bringing a little bit of naughty to even your sweetest of looks.

#4 – Bring on the Sparkle If color isn’t your bag, why not add a bit of dazzle to your nails? In lieu of bright and bold colors, another new nail trend is sparkle. Whether you choose a subtle hint of sparkle with a coat of glitter polish in silver or gold, or go for full-on glam by gluing individual crystals to the nails, either is perfect for a special night on the town!
