Last month I was asked to I participate in the Marshalls fall fashion challenge where I was given a $100 gift card to shop for a look (or looks) inspired by fall’s top trends. The task was simple; choose a trend from these three: color, prints or ladylike with an edge. Of course I chose “ladylike with an edge”. I scoured the stores looking for shifts and dresses that would get me through New York Fashion Week without too much fuss.
I found two Anne Klien shifts, similar to those above and a two pairs of simple (edgy, shall we say) chroc pumps. I tried my best to stick with the beauty trends, even though I am a very simple and classic (or shall I say “whatever is most comfy”) kind of gal. The amazing thing about it was how many great finds there were at the store. I had to focus on my goal, and not get distracted….Joe jeans, cozy sweaters…oh my!!
