I may not be the biggest fan of Kim Kardashian, but I can't ignore how stunning her wedding makeup was last week. As always, she was sculpted and contoured to perfection. Her makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic stated that “Contouring frames the face and chisels the cheeks, so basically it’s putting a little bit of bronzer on the hairline and jawline and on the hollows of the cheeks and the bridge of the nose. It thins out the face and gives warmth to the face.”
Yet, her makeup look is surprisingly attainable via budget friendly products. After contouring, Dedivanovic lined her lids with Urban Decay Ink for Eyes eyeliner in Perversion. Her full fringe came courtesy of her own brand of individual lashes and a healthy dose of Urban Decay’s upcoming Perversion Mascara. He topped off the look with L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lipstick in Nude Ballet (one of my all time favorites).
For her hair, Chris McMillan polished Kardashian’s luscious locks by prepping her hair with Living Proof’s Satin Hair Serum to tame flyaways. To add some more volume for the reception, he worked in a touch of the Amp2 Texture Volumizer and sealed the look with a blast of the Flex Shaping Hairspray.

Truth be told, I am an eye girl. While I rarely where lipstick and hate cakey foundation, I absolutely adore big, bold eyes! I rely on good eyeliner and great mascara to achieve the look I desire, but sadly, many types of mascara fall short for me and leave my lashes either looking clumpy or barely give any coverage to speak of. Thank goodness for L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara, . It delivers and delights in every way possible. Here’s the breakdown:
Formula: I chose the waterproof formula because of my watery eyes. This formula gave great coverage that lasted through my 12+ hour day and on through the night. Even after committing the beauty sin of sleeping in my makeup, my lashes still looked beautiful in the AM.
Promise vs. Reality: This mascara promises to produce longer and fuller lashes, while giving you that winged, butterfly look. While I’m not sure that my lashes appeared more “winged”, they certainly did appear both thicker and longer without looking fake or clumpy.
Color/Coverage: I chose the shade blackest black, but the mascara also comes in regular black as well as black brown. While I was a bit skeptical about the shade being any darker than a regular black, by the second coat I could really tell a difference. As far as coverage goes, because I love super thick lashes I went for three coats; however, you could easily go with one or two coats and still have lashes that pop.
So there you have it. If you’re looking for mascara that provides length, volume, great coverage, and dramatic color all in one, look no further than your local drug store and get stocked up now!
