New York Fashion Week isn't all about the glitz and glamour of clothes, hair and makeup….it is also all about the little details that make a look complete. That is my favorite part of Fashion Week. The fact that even the smallest details, such as nails, can be so intricate and complete a look. Here are two inspired looks by Essie for the Tory Burch and Phillip Lam shows. Love!
Lets face it, at one time or another we have all dreamed of being a rockstar. I personally use my car as my own personal stage and belt out my best Tina Turner every chance I get. Yet, when I want to look like I rockstar, I tend to turn to my three favorite classic pieces pumped up with some fierce accesories. Softer colors still keep the look elegant, while the skulls, and prints add an extra punch.
This morning I was reading Yahoo's Fashion+Beauty section, and read the most incredible article. As a "healthy" girl (or shall we say curvy?) myself, I have always been horrified at the medias perception of what a beautiful woman should look like. Skinny, Tall, and a strong resemblence to Barbie seems to be the norm. But I, like many others, am a whole different type of normal beauty. Curvy, soft, and no where near a size 0. Yet, I believe I shine. Why can't we focus on inner beauty, the radiance of a woman's smile, the curve of her hips, and the light in her eyes. I hope you enjoy this article as much as I did.
It has been awhile since I last wrote one of my passion infused posts on products or looks that were my latest inspiration. To be honest, it has been awhile since I knew what to say.
For the past week I have rehearsed in my head all the new posts and jolly happenings that I would burst back into the blogosphere with; "It's New York Fashion Week!
I can remember the exact moment thatI met Kevin James Bennett; his warmth, humor, and enthusiasm for makeup made me instantly adore him. I am now fortunate enough to call him a treasured friend and coach He has always been the first to cheer me on, and to offer up some of his finest top secret tips to me. I have seen him regard strangers and fans as if they were friends, and I consider him to be one of the foremost educators in our industry. My dear fellow makeup enthusiasts, if you ever get the chance to take on of hisclasses, I highly recommend it!!

The makeup look for the Spring 2011 Vera Wang Collection was inspired by the glamorous and candlelit nuances found in the movie In The Mood For Love.
For the past two weeks I have been running around New York, and sucking up all the glorious fashion filled makeup looks that my fellow artists are knocking out! Being in the city always fills me with inspiration, and stirs up my creativity.
One of my favorite artists and friend, Orlando Santiago, recently let me join him on set to get a sneak peak at his work in action. His current fashion project allows him to create classic, sensual looks that can be recreated on anyone. I tried this look below myself on a recent night out, and felt gorgeous. And, to top it off, all the products he used were from one of my favorite makeup lines, Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics.
Here is the look below, try it out next time you want to feel like a goddess!
Mineral Primer to start.
A light dusting of HD Powder in Warm all over to set primer.
Loose Mineral Foundation buffed all over for full coverage.
Petal and Bashful Blush mixed together for a soft flush.
*if needed, a light dusting of Sundance bronzer to warm up the skin.
