I always have believed makeup helps us feel prettier and bring our confidence to a higher level. Recently I stumbled upon a great charitable cause that I couldn’t help but embrace, and that moved me so much I wanted to reach out and help as much as I could!
Angel Faces is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide healing retreats and ongoing support for adolescent girls with burn/trauma injuries to achieve their optimum potential and develop meaningful relationships for themselves, their families and their communities.
I teamed up with www.sevenly.org/TheMakeupBlogger to help these burn victims.
For this week only, your purchase at www.sevenly.org/TheMakeupBlogger provides therapy and corrective cosmetic assistance for teen burn victims!
Thank you again for your support and for your donations!
One Week. One Cause. For every purchase we give $7 to this week’s charity
About This Week’s Art
Our faces are who we are; they are our yearbook photos, social network images, and drivers license id’s. But for a female burn survivor, presenting her face to the world can be the most challenging task ever. This week’s charity: Angel Faces is doing nothing short of saving lives by empowering female burn survivors to discover their inner and outer beauty. The first of the women’s illustrations is a butterfly. Its mid life metamorphosis is so symbolic of this week’s cause because of the dramatic change it undergoes.
The second Illustration is ribbons bound together to create a heart, wind blown and unraveling, as if they are unwrapping possibility.
For our men’s illustration, we wanted to stay in a natural vein but with the ornate details of our phrase for this week. “You’re Beautiful” is written over the intricacies of the rings of a half sawn tree. Where do we find most if not all examples of beautify, if not in nature?
