For the past two weeks, I have resembled a red headed version of Elmer Fudd. A summer time flu took hold, and knocked me off my keister. DayQuill, and an overabundance of Orange Juice has left me extremely light headed and completely void of any blogging skills whatsoever!
And, as much as I would have loved to have hidden away in my apartment watching reruns, these past two weeks have been busy ones!
So, yet again, I look to my beauty closet to save me and help me fake a well rested (and not half dead) appearance. Actually, I have used this formulation of skin boosting serums, soft lit makeup, and vitamin loaded juices for days when I am exhausted.....flu or not! This simple beauty plan is great for days *or weeks* when you are exhausted, travel weary, or overworked. It fakes a good nights sleep perfectly.
Yves Saint Laurent foundation
The illuminating magic light of Touche Éclat is in a foundation! I couldn't ask for anything more when I am feeling pale, ghastly, and all around sickly. If you are a fan of Touche Eclat (who isn't really?), than you will adore this foundation. Light, hydrating and luminous. It brings back the glow!
This concentrate of essential oils and botanical packs a punch. It diminishes the tri-fecta of tired; puffiness, dark circles, and wrinkles.
In desperation, I grabbed this during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, and I am so very glad I did. This little set saved me when I was too tired to think of what makeup to apply. The colors are uber complimentary, soft, illuminating, and super flattering. I looked polished without trying!
Today we're gonna be talking about cosmetics to conceal a dark circle. Now dark circles can really be a frustration for those of us that suffer from them. I know, I'm one of them. They can instantly make you look really tired and just kind of take down the look vibrancy of your face. It's one of my biggest frustrations. But, the good thing is there are a lot of amazing concealers and correctors out there that can make you look wide awake and absolutely banish those dark circles. These are a few of my favorites. I absolutely love It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye. I mean the name just says it all. It's very dense, it has a great amount of coverage, and the colors are all a peach base, which is the key to banishing those blue undertones of your dark circles. Another one that I love is new NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. It has a light reflecting quality to it, once again a beautiful peach base, really really wonderful for those days when you don't need as heavy as a coverage, but still want to make sure that you have that brightness under the eye. And last but not least, I absolutely love SmashBox Cosmetics Photo Op Under Eye Brightener for midday touch ups. It has a really nice kind of shimmer to it that's not too overwhelming and helps to really brighten up the look of the eyes during the day when you might be getting a little bit tired and those circles tend to pop back up. So I hope that helps, and I hope that you try out these cosmetics to help your dark circles.
I had the pleasure of working with a personal client yesterday, and she asked me to compile a list of my top beauty favorites and recommendations to her. She was a striking woman in her early 40’s, with a stunning smile, and medium skin. After I made my list of recommendations for her, I realized how universal it was. This list is truly compiled of some of my all time favorite products that I use in my professional makeup kit, and my personal kit as well. You can easily tailor some of the recommendations to your skintone, and skin type. Enjoy!
